Adwoa Safo laments lack of coordination over Disciplinary Committee no-show

Former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP). She called out their poor handling of internal disciplinary proceedings.

On April 7, she arrived for a scheduled committee hearing. However, she found that the meeting had not been convened. Safo expressed her disappointment at the absence of the committee.

She stated, “As a party, we need to take these matters more seriously.” Safo added, “I came here ready for the committee meeting. Now there’s no hearing and no explanation. This could have been handled much more effectively.”

Safo was summoned over comments about the NPP's performance in the 2024 elections. The party viewed her remarks as potentially damaging and against its communication code. Her appearance was part of a formal inquiry by the Disciplinary Committee.

Upon arrival, Safo found no committee members present. This left her visibly frustrated. She questioned the party's communication and procedural lapses.

“I was served the summons and prepared myself to respond,” she said. “If plans had changed, they could have informed me personally.” She noted that some party leaders have her contact information.

This incident has sparked discussions about the NPP's internal workings. Many are questioning its disciplinary processes and respect for senior members.

Safo emphasized that fairness and transparency are crucial for maintaining integrity within the party.
