Adwoa Safo slams NPP Disciplinary Committee over postponed hearing

Sarah Adwoa Safo, a former MP for Dome Kwabenya, is frustrated. She is upset with the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) disciplinary committee. They did not inform her about the postponement of her hearing.

On April 7, Adwoa Safo arrived at the NPP headquarters in Accra. She was ready for her scheduled hearing but found no committee present. Instead, she only met one party official.

This situation followed a summons letter sent to her on Sunday. The letter did not mention any changes to the plans. "I had an engagement with a national party officer, but there was no hearing," she said.

Adwoa Safo questioned why she received a summons for a meeting that didn’t happen. "If there was a change of plans, why wasn’t I informed?" she asked.

She stressed that the party should handle such matters professionally and seriously. "As a party, we need to take these matters more seriously," she stated.

"I came here ready for the committee meeting," she continued. "Now I find myself in a situation with no hearing and no explanation."

The former MP also questioned why she was summoned when there was no committee sitting. "The message being sent is that I have done something wrong," she noted.

"Yet there is no one here, suggesting the case is baseless or unresolved." Despite her frustration, Adwoa Safo remains committed to the party.

"I will be available to appear before the party whenever I’m called upon," she affirmed. Her appearance related to comments made on JoyNews' The Pulse show.

Party leadership viewed those comments as violating an earlier directive against discussing sensitive issues. Some supporters gathered at the office to show their support before her arrival.
