Former Member of Parliament Sarah Adwoa Safo will appear before the NPP Disciplinary Committee on April 7, 2025.
The NPP summoned her for alleged misconduct. This follows her recent media appearances discussing party issues. The party claims these comments violate its directives.
Adwoa Safo's remarks reportedly caused discontent and division within the party. This contradicts the NPP's efforts to maintain unity and rebuild.
The disciplinary committee will investigate her actions and decide on consequences.
Recently, the NPP issued a directive warning members against public statements that could deepen divisions. Members must uphold the party's reputation and avoid discussing internal matters publicly.
In a statement, General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong noted that Adwoa Safo’s comments on Joy News’ Pulse Show violated this directive. He emphasized that all members should stop discussing issues that create unrest or negativity in public forums.
The party views her actions as undermining its efforts to move forward. As a former MP, Deputy Majority Leader, and Minister of State, she was expected to set a good example.
Her failure to do so reflects poorly on her character. It also contravenes Article 3(5) of the party’s constitution, which calls for promoting the party's good name.
