Minority Leader and MP for Effutu, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, is unhappy. He criticized a misleading headline from an interview on Joy FM's Super Morning Show.
In a letter to the show's producers, he stated that the headline was inaccurate. The headline read, “NDC is a sellable brand – Afenyo-Markin commends ruling party’s rebranding effort.”
Afenyo-Markin argued this created a false impression of his views. He said it misrepresented his intent and exposed him to unfair criticism.
He called the publication of the headline a "grave disservice." He believes it misleads audiences who rely on Joy FM for accurate reporting.
The Effutu lawmaker demands a full retraction of the headline. He wants this retraction across all Joy FM platforms, including social media and their website.
He also requests a corrected version of his remarks be published prominently. Additionally, he seeks an official written apology from the editorial team.
Afenyo-Markin clarified that he did not endorse the NDC. He made an objective observation about party branding in Ghanaian politics. His comments aimed to support rebuilding and repositioning the NPP for future success.
