Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the MP for Effutu, is committed to judicial independence. He made this statement during the opening of a new court complex in Effutu. This facility includes both a High Court and a Circuit Court.
The new courts aim to meet the growing demand for justice in the area. The population is rapidly increasing, making accessible justice essential. The Minority Leader, who helped build the courts, emphasized their importance. He noted that they would reduce pressure on existing judicial facilities.
At the event, Afenyo-Markin highlighted the significance of the court complex. He believes it strengthens the rule of law and promotes order in Effutu. "This complex reflects my belief that law and order are vital for democracy," he said.
He added that without a strong judiciary, democracy suffers. "I am dedicated to supporting systems that protect our freedoms," he stated.
