Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has confirmed that Members of Parliament (MPs) are allocated protocol slots for recruitment into Ghana's security services.
Speaking on GHOne TV, he explained that MPs from both the ruling and opposition parties submit names of qualified constituents for consideration.
He clarified that while MPs can submit names, candidates must meet all recruitment criteria. Afenyo-Markin emphasized that these slots are not for unqualified individuals but provide an opportunity for qualified candidates through their MP.
He also highlighted that while each MP receives one slot, committee chairs and ranking members may receive more based on their position.
