Nikyema Billa Alamzy, the MP for Chianna-Paga, made a statement about Afenyo Markin. He described Markin as a content creator.
Alamzy acknowledged that Markin is a good politician. However, he noted that Markin has focused on creating content for the past four months. Alamzy criticized Markin for making statements that are not accurate.
Speaking on GHONE TV, Alamzy discussed the recent election loss. He said the minority party struggles to understand issues from the NDC. He questioned their logic regarding the cedi's appreciation against the dollar.
Alamzy pointed out that neighboring countries are not seeing similar currency stability. He mentioned that Afenyo Markin should reorganize his party instead of creating content. Alamzy believes the government is managing the economy well.
Afenyo Markin responded by stating that the cedi's stability is due to limited spending by Mahama's government. He claimed this stability is not due to Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson’s actions. According to him, contractors are unpaid because there is little money circulating in the economy.
Dennis Miracles Aboagye from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) agreed with Markin’s assessment. He stated that the current government must be held accountable for cedi performance. Aboagye also credited Mahama’s administration for helping stabilize the cedi against the US dollar.
In a social media post, he expressed agreement with others who recognize this contribution from the NDC government.
