Afenyo Markin should be in an interrogation room – Kevin Taylor

Kevin Taylor, a US-based vlogger, has made strong claims. He stated that minority leader Alexander Afenyo Markin should face interrogation. This follows an incident where Afenyo Markin slapped a police officer.

A viral video shows Afenyo Markin and protestors trying to break through a police barricade. During this confrontation, he hit the officer and called him a fool. Reports indicate tensions rose when he was almost denied entry to Parliament.

On May 5, 2025, Afenyo Markin released a statement about the incident. He claimed Constable Forson struck him in the chest as he approached the barricade. He described feeling dazed and short of breath after the encounter.

Afenyo Markin criticized the officer's behavior, stating it was unprovoked. He noted that other officers were reprimanding Forson at the time. Despite this, Forson allegedly responded defiantly.

He emphasized that their demonstration aimed to defend constitutional principles. “We must protect these principles at all costs,” he affirmed.

In response, Kevin Taylor expressed his outrage on social media. He argued that Afenyo Markin should not be on television but in an interrogation room instead. Taylor insisted Ghana needs justice for this incident.

He accused Afenyo Markin of being an elite bully pretending to be a martyr. According to Taylor, the video evidence is clear: Afenyo Markin struck a police officer during a protest.

Taylor dismissed Afenyo's statement as a distraction from his actions. He labeled it an insult to Ghanaians' intelligence and called it dangerous rhetoric.

He pointed out that ordinary citizens face severe consequences for similar actions against police officers. Yet, because of his political status, Afenyo thinks he can evade accountability.

Taylor concluded by saying Ghanaians witnessed what happened on camera. “He struck the officer,” he stated firmly, emphasizing there’s no excuse for such behavior.

Now, Afenyo is shifting blame and making accusations against the police force. Taylor criticized this as mere propaganda from someone who thought they were untouchable until caught on video.
