Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has called on New Patriotic Party (NPP) members to use the periods of Lent and Ramadan for reflection and unity as they strategize for a political comeback in the 2028 elections.
In a social media post, the Effutu MP acknowledged the disappointment following the party’s 2024 election defeat but urged resilience and collective determination to rebuild.
He cautioned against internal divisions, emphasizing that grievances should be resolved through party structures rather than public disputes.
Afenyo-Markin expressed confidence in the Professor Mike Oquaye-led Committee investigating the NPP’s electoral loss, urging members to exercise patience for its recommendations.
Drawing on historical examples, he reminded supporters that both the NDC and NPP had recovered from similar setbacks in the past.
Despite being in opposition, he assured that the NPP’s "Mighty Minority" in Parliament remains committed to working towards reclaiming power.
