Africa countries urged to collectively respond to US 10% tariff

African countries are urged to respond together. This call comes under the African Union (AU). The United States recently increased tariffs on goods by 10 percent.

Selasi Koffi Ackom is the Chief Executive of Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference (GITFiC). He stated that over 80 percent of African countries may struggle to retaliate alone. A united response would maximize their impact.

Ackom highlighted Africa's diverse economies. He believes coordinated action through the AU could enhance Africa's role in global trade.

In a statement shared with The Ghanaian Times, he noted that the changing global trade environment brings challenges and opportunities. This situation allows African countries to strengthen their economic futures.
