Africa must look within for prosperity – Tshabalala

Bajabulile Swazi Tshabalala is a Presidential Candidate for the African Development Bank. She believes Africa should stop relying on international aid. Instead, Africa must use its own resources for sustainable development.

In an interview with Starr FM, she stressed the need to reduce dependence on foreign assistance. Africa has vast natural and human resources that can be leveraged.

Tshabalala said, “We will never get rich from aid.” She emphasized that it’s time to focus on what Africa already has.

She highlighted the potential within African nations, especially their people. “Ghana's wealth lies in its skilled and hardworking population,” she noted.

Additionally, she mentioned Ghana’s natural resources like gold and oil. These resources show that Africa can build a self-sufficient economy.

Tshabalala concluded by saying Africa should refocus on developing itself. This shift would help reduce reliance on international support.
