Ag CJ gives new directive on case allocation

Acting Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie Issues New Directive

A new directive from Acting Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie centralizes case assignments. This affects scheduling for newly filed cases and applications in the highest courts.

According to a notice from Deputy Judicial Secretary Dr. Cyracus B. Bapuuroh, all cases must be presented to the Acting Chief Justice for review. This applies to High Courts, Courts of Appeal, and the Supreme Court.

The directive also includes empaneling judges in areas with multiple courts. It covers fixing hearing dates as well.

“This directive supersedes all previous directives until further notice,” stated Dr. Bapuuroh on April 23, 2025.

Judicial officers and Registrars must comply with this new procedure. The goal is to improve consistency and oversight in managing court dockets.

The Acting Chief Justice praised all court officers. He reminded them of the importance of following the updated process.
