Bright Simons, Vice President of IMANI Africa, has criticized the government’s Agenda 111 project, branding it a poorly executed initiative with immense financial liabilities for future administrations.
In a social media post, Simons revealed that none of the promised hospitals have been completed to clinical standards, with over $1.45 billion in pending costs awaiting the next government.
He further claimed that the Ministry of Health has revised the project’s budget to a staggering $7.5 billion—250% more than Ghana’s $3 billion International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout.
Simons argued the timelines were politically motivated and warned of a repeat of energy sector debt woes, which previously plunged Ghana into power crises.
