Ahafo Ano South: Small-scale miners burn galamsey equipment on River Mankran

On September 11, a task force from the National Association of Small Scale Miners conducted a crackdown on illegal mining, or galamsey, along the River Mankran in Ahafo Ano South West District.

The operation led to the seizure and destruction of mining equipment abandoned by fleeing miners.

Dredging machines were set ablaze, and other tools were confiscated as evidence.

The association emphasized its commitment to combating illegal mining and protecting the environment for future generations.
