Richard Ahiagbah, the Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is frustrated. He criticized the current government's handling of economic issues. He called it “the most disappointing government in history.”
In an interview on Good Morning Ghana, Ahiagbah spoke with Moro Awudu. He condemned the recent 15% increase in utility tariffs. This comes after a meager 10% raise in public sector workers' pay.
“This isn’t what the NDC promised Ghanaians during the 2024 campaign,” he said. “You can’t give a 10% raise and then impose a 15% tariff hike. It’s unfair and a betrayal of trust.”
Ahiagbah warned that growing discontent could have serious political consequences. He stated, “A vote for the NDC is a net loss.” However, he acknowledged that they are not giving people much reason to trust them either.
