Ahiagbah defends Bawumia, says he speaks from a ‘collective standpoint’ during Thank You Tour

The NPP's Communications Director has rejected claims about Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. Some suggest he is distancing himself from the Akufo-Addo government’s failures during the party’s ‘Thank You’ tour.

Richard Ahiagbah responded to these criticisms. He explained that Bawumia’s statements reflect a collective legacy, not an attempt to avoid responsibility.

“I don’t think he is distancing himself,” Ahiagbah said. “If you listen to him, you’ll see he speaks from a collective standpoint.” He made these comments on Channel One’s Newsroom on April 28.

Ahiagbah stressed that Bawumia supports the administration’s policies and direction. He has played a key role in shaping governance.

“There is no way Dr. Bawumia will distance himself,” Ahiagbah stated. “We are all together in that decision.” He added that if Bawumia tried to distance himself, he would have questions too.

The NPP communications chief questioned why anyone would seek political gain by distancing themselves. He emphasized that Bawumia’s approach focuses on unity and collective responsibility for the future.
