Akatsi North DCE Nominee Gets 100% Endorsement

**New DCE Approved for Akatsi North District**

The Akatsi North District Assembly in the Volta Region has a new District Chief Executive (DCE). Mr. Bless Kodjo Katamani received unanimous approval from all 18 assembly members. This includes 12 elected members and 6 government appointees. The vote showed a 100 percent endorsement.

Mr. James Gunu, the Volta Regional Minister, addressed the assembly after the vote. This strong support means Mr. Katamani exceeded the two-thirds majority needed for approval under the Local Governance Act.

In his victory message, Mr. Katamani expressed gratitude to everyone involved. He thanked assembly members, chiefs, opinion leaders, and the public for their trust in him. "Today we make history with this 100 percent endorsement," he said.

He emphasized that this marks a new chapter for Akatsi North District. Mr. Katamani called for teamwork to advance development in education, sports, health, infrastructure, and roads.

He promised to keep his doors open for developmental ideas from everyone. He encouraged participation from chiefs, assembly members, stakeholders, and the public in decision-making processes.

"My administration will be inclusive," he stated. "We can celebrate this victory but must focus on hard work."

Mr. Katamani also thanked President John Dramani Mahama for his appointment as DCE. He urged the youth to embrace this victory and work towards a brighter future.

Mr. Gunu praised the assembly members for their efforts during his remarks. He noted that their decision was not just about confirming nominees but also about embracing growth and transformation in Akatsi North.

"This unanimous confirmation brings me joy," he added as it sets an example for other districts in the region.

Mr. Cephas Weto, an Assembly Member from Agormor Electoral Area, spoke with Ghana News Agency after the vote. He highlighted that this confirmation shows readiness among members to achieve success with Mr. Katamani as DCE.

Residents also shared their thoughts with Ghana News Agency after the announcement of Mr. Katamani's approval. They thanked assembly members and urged them to work hard for development across all areas.

They reminded him that "to whom much is given, much is expected." The new DCE must be ready to fulfill his promises and responsibilities.

Mr. Katamani is now officially sworn into office by officials of the Electoral Commission as the fourth DCE of Akatsi North District.
