Akosua Manu demands clarity on aircraft registration numbers in drug allegation saga

Akosua Manu is the former Deputy CEO of the National Youth Authority. She is also the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate for Adentan in the 2024 election. Recently, she raised concerns about aircraft registration numbers linked to drug trafficking and money laundering allegations.

In a post on social media platform X, Manu highlighted an inconsistency. She noted that the registration numbers from Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu differ from those in the allegations. Manu asked, “Why is the aircraft number different? The one in discussion is N823AM. The one you have posted has N864AM.”

Manu pointed out that the aircraft under scrutiny was registered as N823AM. However, Ofosu referred to a different number, N864AM. This discrepancy adds confusion to an already serious situation.

The issue arose after Rev. John Ntim Fordjour made serious allegations. He is the Member of Parliament for Assin South and Ranking Member of the Defense Committee. Fordjour claimed two suspicious flights arrived at Kotoka International Airport, linking them to drug trafficking and money laundering.

President John Dramani Mahama responded by instructing security agencies to investigate closely with Rev. Fordjour. However, clarity on this investigation has been questioned since Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu dismissed Fordjour’s claims outright.

Manu's call for clarity reflects a growing demand for transparency in this case. The conflicting details from government officials raise doubts about information accuracy and case handling. As investigations continue, many are urging the government to provide clear answers to maintain public trust and accountability.
