President Nana Akufo-Addo has approved the 2025 first-quarter budget estimates for the Judicial Service, Audit Service, and Parliament, as revealed by Speaker Alban Bagbin on December 18, 2024.
The allocations include GHS 276.5 million for the Judiciary, GHS 217.3 million for the Audit Service, and GHS 450.6 million for Parliament, covering salaries, goods, services, and capital projects.
While the approvals meet constitutional requirements, formal submission by the Finance Minister in the upcoming mini-budget is required for parliamentary scrutiny.
Speaker Bagbin emphasized that the funds are crucial for the smooth operations of these institutions in early 2025, ensuring their independence and functionality.
Parliament awaits the Finance Minister’s presentation for further deliberation and approval.
