President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has fulfilled his pledge to enable visa-free travel for all African nationals to Ghana, effective before his term ends on January 6, 2025.

This groundbreaking policy aligns with the African Union's vision of economic integration under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Executive approval was granted on December 18, 2024, making Ghana the fifth African nation to offer unrestricted entry to African passport holders, joining Rwanda, Seychelles,

The Gambia, and Benin. The Ghana Immigration Service will confirm the start date, expected January 1, 2025.

This initiative aims to bolster trade, tourism, and cultural exchange, addressing challenges like restrictive immigration policies faced by entrepreneurs such as Aliko Dangote. Ghana, home to the AfCFTA Secretariat, reinforces its leadership in championing African unity.
