The statue of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital roundabout in Sekondi has been completely vandalized, marking the second attack on the monument.
Initially damaged on December 16, 2024, when its leg was broken, the statue was repaired, but no arrests were made.
The latest act of vandalism occurred shortly after Akufo-Addo’s exit from office, leaving the statue toppled entirely.
Erected during his presidency, the monument symbolized Akufo-Addo’s efforts to enhance healthcare and infrastructure in the Western Region. Its location near the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital highlighted initiatives to improve medical care access in underserved communities.
Authorities have yet to identify the perpetrators or motives behind the repeated attacks.
