Outgoing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed hope that the incoming John Mahama administration will prioritize the completion of the Agenda 111 hospitals, a flagship initiative aimed at bolstering Ghana's healthcare infrastructure.
Speaking during his final State of the Nation Address on Friday, January 3, 2025, President Akufo-Addo emphasized the importance of the project, which involves constructing 111 hospitals and two psychiatric facilities nationwide.
He revealed that three hospitals under the initiative have been commissioned, while others remain at various stages of development.
“I trust that the Mahama administration will ensure the successful completion of these projects to strengthen our health infrastructure,” he stated.
The Agenda 111 initiative seeks to address healthcare disparities, especially in districts without major facilities.
