President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has urged President-elect John Dramani Mahama to build on the anti-corruption framework established during his tenure.

Speaking on December 20, 2025, after receiving the National Anti-Corruption Report, Akufo-Addo highlighted his administration’s achievements, including the establishment of the Office of the Special Prosecutor, passage of the Corruption Protection Act (2018), and elevation of corruption offenses to felonies under the 2020 Criminal Offenses Amendment Act.

He lauded technological innovations like digital procurement systems and the Right to Information Act (2019) for enhancing transparency.

Akufo-Addo also cited a 32% reduction in financial irregularities as proof of progress.

Expressing hope, he called on the incoming Mahama government to uphold accountability and strengthen anti-corruption efforts.
