The Akyem Abuakwa Presbytery has paid tribute to the late Dr. Joseph Boakye Danquah for his significant contributions to Christianity, cultural heritage, and national development.
At a wreath-laying ceremony in Kyebi marking the 60th anniversary of his passing, Presbytery Chairman Rev. Prof. Seth Asare Danso lauded Danquah’s role in strengthening Okyeman and preserving Akan traditions.
Danquah was also recognized for his efforts in Ghana’s independence struggle and his unwavering defense of democracy against authoritarian rule.
His scholarly work, Akan Laws and Customs – and the Akyem Abuakwa Constitution, published in 1928, remains a cornerstone in the study of Akan customs.
Traditional leaders and clergy gathered at his tomb to honor his enduring legacy.
