Kennedy Osei Nyarko, the Member of Parliament for Akyem Swedru, supports a general amnesty. This amnesty would apply to all suspended or dismissed members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He believes that rebuilding the party's base is essential. Those who love the party but left for various reasons should be welcomed back.
Nyarko stated that this move would strengthen the party and make it more attractive. He expressed his agreement in a Facebook post, saying, “PYB this I agree with 1000%.”
He added that this opportunity could unite true patriots who genuinely care about the party. His comments follow Patrick Yaw Boamah’s call for leadership to bring back aggrieved members.
The NPP aims to solidify its base as it prepares for the 2028 elections. The party hopes to regain power from the National Democratic Congress, which will need a new candidate for those elections.
