Former National Investment Bank Deputy MD, Alfred Thompson, has criticized the Mahama administration over the detention of former PPA Board Chairman, Prof. Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi, by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB).
Ameyaw-Akumfi was held on Sunday as part of a probe into financial matters during his tenure at the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF) but has since been released.
Thompson condemned the act, calling it undemocratic and accusing President Mahama of unlawfully targeting former Akufo-Addo officials. He warned Mahama against abusing public trust, insisting that democracy should not mirror a revolutionary regime.
Speaking on Peace FM, he urged the President to uphold the rule of law, questioning whether this was what Ghanaians voted for.
