Alhaji Seidu Agongo donates GHȼ500,000 to 'Mahama Cares' initiative

Ghanaian businessman and philanthropist Alhaji Seidu Agongo has donated GHȼ500,000. This contribution supports the new 'Mahama Cares' initiative. The program aims to provide affordable healthcare to vulnerable communities in Ghana.

Agongo made the donation on Tuesday during the launch in Accra. Many business leaders and supporters attended to show their commitment to this health initiative.

President John Mahama launched the initiative and donated his six months' salary. His salary will help fund the program.

This donation is part of Agongo's efforts to support vulnerable people. He encourages others to share their resources for a better society.

In Ghana, the gap between rich and poor is widening. Agongo, founder of Heritage Bank, reminds us that wealth brings responsibility. His compassion has transformed many lives through various charitable acts.

From villages in the Northern Region to urban areas in Accra, he provides food, housing support, and financial assistance. "When I see a child smile because they have enough to eat, I'm reminded why God blessed me," Agongo says humbly.

He emphasized that private sector involvement is crucial for social challenges. "Business leaders must support initiatives that impact ordinary Ghanaians," he stated.

The 'Mahama Cares' program aims to assist vulnerable households with food, healthcare access, education, and skills development across Ghana.

Agongo's donation adds to his record of philanthropy in health and education sectors. He recently provided food donations in Bongo District and supported educational programs nationwide.

The new paediatric Emergency Child Block at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital showcases his commitment to healthcare improvement. Funded entirely by him, it offers world-class care for children who previously faced overcrowded conditions.

Medical staff report significant improvements in child healthcare since its opening. Children now receive specialized care instead of being treated on the floor.

Agongo also pays school fees for children across Ghana. From primary students in remote areas to university students studying medicine or law, many benefit from his generosity without ever meeting him.

In March, he paid hospital bills for new mothers in selected hospitals across the country as part of his ongoing charitable efforts.
