**President Mahama Responds to Drug Trafficking Allegations**
President John Dramani Mahama is shocked by recent allegations. The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Minority claims drug trafficking and money laundering occur at Kotoka International Airport (KIA). In response, President Mahama has ordered immediate investigations.
On April 2, 2025, he announced this on Facebook. He directed security agencies to work with Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, the MP for Assin North. They will investigate the allegations made during a press conference.
Rev. Fordjour mentioned two suspicious flights arriving at KIA. These flights are AirMed Flight N823AM and Cavok Air Antonov An-12B. They landed from Gran Canaria on March 20 and March 12, respectively.
Fordjour stated these jets carried suspicious cargo from a known drug trafficking hub. The minority found it odd that both flights left for the same location on March 25, 2025.
**Request for Meeting**
After President Mahama's post, a letter was sent requesting a meeting. Rev. Fordjour wrote to the Committee Chair asking for briefings from security agencies. He wants updates on investigations into twelve containers filled with gold bars and currencies.
The letter also mentions cocaine busts worth $350 million and $120 million linked to the flights suspected of carrying drugs and money. The committee aims to provide useful information for ongoing investigations.
