Alleged drug kingpin busted at Amasaman gym after weeks on the run

Geoffrey Agbi is the suspected mastermind of a drug trafficking ring. He disguised his operation as a gym business.

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) confirmed his arrest on May 30, 2025. This followed a targeted surveillance operation.

Agbi had been on the run since April. He was arrested around 6:20 p.m. in his office at the gym. The gym is located near Amasaman, within the Kuntunse Spirit Filling Station.

NACOC reported that several substances suspected to be drugs were found in his office. This information was shared in a press release on Saturday.

His arrest follows an earlier raid by NACOC on April 14. During that raid, five suspects were arrested, including gym instructors Elvis Owusu Yeboah and Joseph Godsway from Nigeria. Agbi managed to escape then and was placed on NACOC's wanted list.

Authorities monitored Agbi and discovered he resumed operations at the gym. He allegedly hired new personnel to maintain his drug network.

Officials believe his arrest is a significant step in dismantling this local drug operation. Agbi is currently in detention and assisting with investigations. NACOC remains committed to tracking down everyone linked to this illicit network.
