Alleged stolen government fertilizers intercepted in Kumasi by Joseph Yamin-led operation team

A consignment of government fertilizers meant for farmers has been discovered hoarded in a two-storey building at Sokoban, Kumasi, by a Joseph Yamin-led operation to recover looted state resources in the Ashanti Region.

The fertilizers, intended to boost agricultural productivity under government initiatives, were allegedly diverted for private gain.

Joseph Yamin, National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), called for urgent investigations, labeling the hoarding as a betrayal of farmers and food security. He highlighted systemic resource mismanagement under the current administration, questioning the ownership of the building and the authorization for storing the fertilizers.

Local farmers, already struggling with fertilizer shortages and inflated prices, expressed frustration, affirming longstanding concerns over mismanagement.

Yamin urged citizens to remain vigilant, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability.

Efforts to reach the Ministry of Agriculture for comments were unsuccessful.
