“Allow peace to prevail”– Wontumi calls for a cease-fire between Ken Agyapong and Abronye

Bernard Antwi Boasiako, known as Chairman Wontumi, is the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He has called for peace between Kennedy Agyapong and Kwame Baffoe, also known as Abronye DC.

In an interview on Wontumi TV, he said, “Kennedy, you are our elder brother. Please forgive and let’s move past this issue.” He also urged Abronye to forgive and allow peace to prevail. He emphasized that elders can be wrong sometimes, but we should still forgive them.

Chairman Wontumi stated, “The issue isn’t the problem; it’s how you react to it.” Abronye recently addressed allegations against him during the NPP’s Thank You Tour. He was accused of plotting against a presidential candidate before last year’s internal elections.

Abronye questioned those preaching unity in the NPP while having previously caused discord. He rejected Agyapong's proposal for amnesty for suspended members. According to him, granting amnesty would promote indiscipline within the party.

Kennedy Agyapong took offense at Abronye's comments and criticized him harshly. He described Abronye as a poor man who talks too much. Agyapong claimed some people act tough because of their party affiliation but lack financial contributions.

He added that he respects others but won’t respond to certain individuals. Agyapong warned that if provoked, there would be consequences. Meanwhile, Abronye expressed his readiness to leave the NPP to confront Agyapong directly.

Abronye noted that after an initial attack from Agyapong, he received an apology but was attacked again later. Speaking on Movement TV, he declared his willingness to fight Agyapong if necessary.

He stated confidently that he could prove himself as more capable than Agyapong within the party.
