Am I not a Ghanaian anymore? – Wontumi lashes out at Mahama over alleged persecution

Bernard Antwi Boasiako, known as Chairman Wontumi, is the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He claims that President John Dramani Mahama's administration is unfairly targeting him.

Wontumi spoke on Akoma FM after an attempted raid on his home. He expressed frustration over what he sees as efforts to damage his businesses and limit his freedom.

“Am I not a Ghanaian anymore?” he asked. “Now that you’ve won the election, does that mean I’m no longer a Ghanaian?”

In a passionate moment, Wontumi urged NPP supporters to stand up. “Ghanaians, rise! All NPP supporters should rise,” he declared. He believes the actions against him are politically motivated.

Wontumi pointed out that he has not held any public appointments or official roles. He questioned if he had ever been Vice President, chaired a board, or served as a minister.

He also accused the government of targeting his businesses. “You collapsed my business back in 2013,” he said. “Since you took office, you’ve halted all my operations.” He added that even his bank account has been frozen.
