Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the Minority Chief Whip, has criticized the government. He says delays in releasing the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) are harming local development.
He pointed out that funds for the second quarter have not reached Parliament. Disbursements to the National Health Insurance Authority and GETFund are also delayed.
Annoh-Dompreh urged the Finance Minister to make these payments urgently. He stated, “You have introduced taxes and collected them, yet you ignore statutory payments.”
He added that the government is acting irresponsibly in its first year. “They think they have goodwill from the people,” he said.
Without common funds, assemblies cannot effectively govern locally. Health insurance and GETFund payments are also stalled, leaving many questions unanswered. “Where are the taxes collected by this administration?” he asked.
