Annoh-Dompreh wins big in court as election petition is struck out

The High Court in Koforidua has dismissed a petition from NDC’s Amenorpe Philibert Fummey. He challenged the 2024 parliamentary victory of Nsawam-Adoagyiri MP, Frank Annoh-Dompreh.

The court found no merit in Fummey's claims. He argued that the election was not free and fair. However, the judge agreed with the NPP’s Director of Legal Affairs, Gary Nimako. The results declared by the Electoral Commission reflected the will of the people.

Additionally, the court ordered Fummey to pay GH¢25,000 to Annoh-Dompreh as costs.

In response to the ruling, Annoh-Dompreh expressed satisfaction. He stated that the judgement vindicates him. It shows that the people of Nsawam-Adoagyiri chose him to lead them.
