Application seeking to injunct removal of security capos ruled as moot by Supreme Court

Ghana's Supreme Court has ruled on an injunction regarding security chiefs.

Iman Africa and Prof Kwabena Enning sought to stop the president's removal of officials. They argued that a case was pending about the president's power to remove them.

They claimed the president should wait for a ruling in May 2025.

However, the 5-member panel, led by Justice Baffoe Bonney, disagreed. They stated that ongoing legal cases do not prevent presidential duties.

The president has since removed all old security chiefs. He replaced them with trusted individuals.

Joyce Bawa Mogtari, an aide to the President, commented on this decision. She said the president needed trustworthy people for national security matters.
