Appointment of VC Nyarko Boampong not terminated – UCC

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has clarified that the appointment of Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong as Vice-Chancellor has not been terminated.

Contrary to a recent letter from the Council Chair declaring the extension of his term null and void,

UCC asserts that the renewal was conducted following all legal and statutory requirements.

The University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG-UCC) has condemned the unilateral decision, calling it improper and urging the Council Chair to withdraw the termination letter.

They emphasize the need for adherence to legal frameworks and pledge to uphold the institution's integrity.
