The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, announced progress in the Bawku conflict.
His peace efforts have led to a period of calm in the area.
Otumfuo is the lead mediator between the Kusasi and Mamprusi communities.
He held meetings with representatives from both groups from April 28 to April 30.
Currently, the talks are on hold, but he hopes they will resume soon.
On May 12, 2025, he met with Inspector-General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno at Manhyia Palace.
During this meeting, Otumfuo noted significant progress had been made.
He said, “We are still working on the issue and will reconvene soon.”
“Though we are not finished, progress has brought some peace to the area.”
He promised to update the nation shortly.
