Asantehene resumes mediation in Bawku crisis

Asantehene Resumes Mediation in Bawku Conflict

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, resumed mediation efforts yesterday.

He is working with the two factions involved in the Bawku conflict: Mamprusis and Kusasis.

Chiefs and leaders from both sides met at the Jubilee Hall of Manhyia Palace.

The mediation took place behind closed doors under tight security.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II presided over the discussions.

Earlier, he urged both factions to remain calm.

He assured them of his commitment to resolving their differences.

This effort follows President John Mahama's assurance of support for peace initiatives.

President Mahama stated that the Asantehene is ready to mediate effectively.

He called on all stakeholders to cooperate for a peaceful resolution.
