The Fashion Night event at the Ashanti Festival 2025 highlighted local talents. It showcased indigenous craftsmanship in dressmaking and related sectors.
Designers and entrepreneurs from the Ashanti Region gathered for this vibrant event. The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, led the initiative. The goal is to give exposure to often-overlooked individuals.
The Fashion Night featured Kente weavers, bead designers, tailors, shoemakers, and hat creators. Rattray Park in Kumasi transformed into a lively fashion marketplace.
Baffoe Polo specializes in African prints. Established in 2020, it aims to retell African stories through fashion.
Nana Kojo Bobie Ansah, Head of Sales at Baffoe Polo, discussed the event's importance. He said it has been successful for emerging brands. They made some sales and educated many about their brand. He hopes the festival will occur every six months.
Enock Oteng Amponsah praised Baffoe Polo’s creativity after purchasing clothing there. He noted their catchy clothes and unique designs. He believes continued festivals will create more job opportunities.
Afia Nyame is the Creative Lead of Kente Vogue. She drew inspiration from her mother who sold Kente pieces to support their family. Now she sells them on social media and in a shop.
Afia confirmed that the event increased awareness of her brand. She no longer needs to hawk her products to reach customers.
Patron Yaa Yeboah Kamah praised Kente Vogue’s pricing as very low and attractive. She found unique Kente pieces not available elsewhere at the market.
She supports making the festival an annual event for local designers' growth.
With high attendance and strong support from vendors and buyers, Ashanti Festival 2025 was a success. It blended heritage with innovation and empowered the community.
