About 1,500 traders lost their livelihoods due to the incident. Meanwhile, around 1,300 others can still support themselves. This information comes from an assessment by NADMO.
In response to the disaster, the Interior Minister is leading efforts to help those in need. They are providing assistance to those without income.
During a protest, Dr. Amoakohene noted that most demonstrators were not affected traders. He emphasized the government's commitment to helping them return to business. Private donors are also offering additional support.
To help with emotional distress, the government is providing psychological support. This is especially for traders who collapsed after hearing about the fire.
Dr. Amoakohene urged traders in damaged buildings to stop trading immediately. He warned that it poses significant safety risks. The police have been instructed to ensure compliance with this directive.
