The Ashanti Regional branch of the Mortuary Workers Association of Ghana (MOWAG) has denied recent allegations. These claims suggest that some members engage in inappropriate acts with corpses.
At a press briefing, Mr. Ebenezer Toku-Amankwa spoke on behalf of the Association. He called the allegations completely false and damaging to mortuary workers' reputation.
"We are extremely disturbed by these baseless allegations," he said. "They are untrue and could destroy our noble profession."
Mr. Toku-Amankwa accused individuals and bloggers of spreading misinformation. He urged the public to disregard such rumors.
The Association issued a stern warning about circulating false information. They stated that anyone found doing so will face legal consequences.
"We will not hesitate to take legal action against those spreading these falsehoods," the Association warned.
