At the May Day parade:  We ‘ll restore hope in workers …Pres pledges

President John Dramani Mahama has promised to improve wages for workers. He emphasized his government's commitment to restoring hope in Ghanaian workers.

"This government under my leadership is the one you have been waiting for," he said. He assured that they would not only raise wages but also boost confidence among the workforce.

The President spoke at the 2025 National May Day Parade. This event took place at Independence Square in Accra yesterday. The theme was “Resetting Pay and Working Conditions in Ghana: The Role of Stakeholders.”

He pledged to ensure timely salary payments for all workers. He also promised to modernize workplace environments and enhance health and safety policies.

Additionally, he mentioned timely pension contributions as a priority. He plans to reform Ghana’s "distorted" pension system through a special committee of stakeholders.
