Ato Forson achieved in 4 months what Bawumia failed to do in 8 years - Osman Ayariga

The CEO of the National Youth Authority (NYA) has criticized former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. He accused Bawumia of economic mismanagement and deception.

Osman Abdulai Ayariga spoke on GHOne TV during a panel discussion. He demanded that the NPP's 2024 flagbearer apologize to his party and the nation. This includes especially the youth and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Ayariga stated, “Bawumia should be apologizing to the NDC for mismanaging the currency.” He added that Ato Forson achieved more in four months than Bawumia’s team did in eight years.

Mr. Ayariga described Bawumia's legacy as one of failed promises and high taxes. He noted that young Ghanaians have suffered economically under his leadership.

“He should apologize to the youth for not providing jobs,” he said. Ayariga mentioned burdens like e-levy and betting tax that caused suffering.

He accused Dr. Bawumia of political dishonesty. His recent apologies to NPP supporters seem like shallow theatrics, according to Ayariga.

“If he’s apologizing but still deceiving Ghanaians, then he’s dishonest,” Mr. Ayariga stated.

He insisted that true contrition requires admitting failure publicly. It should also recognize efforts by the current administration to fix past mistakes.

Until then, Ayariga believes Ghanaians—especially youth—should view Bawumia’s campaign apologies as deceptive tactics.
