Ato Forson denies paying Kennedy Agyapong for government contract

Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has firmly dismissed allegations that he authorized payment to former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong for a government contract.

In a statement on X, Dr. Forson clarified that no contractor has received payments since he assumed office.

He emphasized that his ministry is conducting a thorough review of all contracts and payment requests inherited from the previous Akufo-Addo administration.

Dr. Forson urged the public to disregard reports suggesting he had approved any payments, stressing that due diligence is being applied before any disbursements.

His response comes amid growing scrutiny over financial transactions under the new government, as efforts to ensure fiscal accountability continue.
