Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has denied allegations by former Defence Minister Dominic Nitiwul that President John Mahama used a private jet for his recent trip to the United Arab Emirates.
Addressing Parliament on Wednesday, Dr. Ato Forson clarified that he accompanied President Mahama on the trip, which was made aboard a commercial Emirates flight.
“I travelled with President Mahama on his recent trip to the UAE, and he didn’t use a private jet. I was on the flight with him, and we used Emirates,” Dr. Forson stated.
He further challenged Nitiwul to provide evidence to substantiate his claims, urging the former minister to prove the assertion that the President used a rented private jet.
The statement aims to clear doubts about the President’s travel arrangements amidst growing public debate.
