Corporal Raymond Larweh, stationed at the Ghana Police Service's Formed Police Unit, has testified against Pius Ayoma, a 23-year-old security man on trial for attempted murder, robbery, and sexual assault.

Ayoma, who denies the charges, allegedly broke two handcuffs before officers restrained him with a rope and a third handcuff.

During the February 2020 incident in Fumbisi, Upper East Region, Larweh and his patrol team found Ayoma hiding under a table in a locked room after a struggle with occupants.

Upon discovery, Ayoma fired a shot, injuring Larweh’s forehead.

A mob attempted to seize Ayoma after the arrest, attacking officers and seizing a rifle.

The team secured Ayoma and found live cartridges and an iPhone during a search.
