Attempts to score political points from Bawku conflict won’t distract me – Mahama Ayariga tells detractors

Mahama Ayariga, the Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, has spoken out. He condemned attempts by some people to gain political advantage from the conflict in Bawku.

Ayariga stated he will not be distracted by comments on social media. He is focused on understanding the issues at hand.

He remains committed to the peace process. He urged the youth to stay united, even if progress seems slow.

On April 11, 2025, he issued a statement about his house being burned down by unknown individuals.

He asked people to ignore falsehoods spread by political opponents. These detractors are trying to exploit the situation in Bawku and Kusaug for personal gain.

Ayariga emphasized that this smear campaign will not deter him. He believes that ultimately, he will be vindicated.
