Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, has nominated three individuals to serve on the General Legal Council in accordance with the Legal Profession Act, 1960.
A statement from the Attorney-General’s office announced the selection of Francis Xavier Sosu, MP for Madina, Clara Beeri Kasser-Tee, a lecturer at the University of Ghana School of Law, and Dr. Abdul-Bassit Aziz Bamba, a senior lecturer at the same institution.
Their appointment aims to strengthen the Council’s role in regulating legal education and professional ethics.
The statement also confirmed that President John Mahama has been notified, while the Attorney-General reaffirmed his commitment to working with Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo on legal reforms.
