Ayariga: We’ll ensure passage of legislation to combat disinformation

Mahama Ayariga is the Member of Parliament for Bawku Central. He also chairs the Independent Constitutional Bodies Committee.

Ayariga has emphasized the committee's commitment to passing legislation against disinformation. He sees disinformation as a threat to Ghana’s democracy.

He expressed concern about how disinformation fuels ethnic conflicts in Bawku and surrounding areas. "Cybersecurity, information management, and disinformation contribute to these issues," he stated.

Ayariga suggested modeling the Traffic Bill after successful examples from Europe and America. He urged Parliament to push for this legislation quickly.

He believes it is crucial for the committee to achieve this goal.
