Ayine lied; I’m not hiding – Former GIIF boss

Solomon Asamoah, CEO of the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF), denies claims he is on the run.

On March 24, 2025, Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine addressed the press. He stated that Asamoah was hiding in Senegal.

Dr. Ayine claimed they traced him from South Africa to Senegal. He warned that if Asamoah does not return, he will be tried in absentia.

The Attorney General also linked Asamoah to a $2 million payment. This payment was allegedly made at the request of Prof. Ameyaw Ekumfi, GIIF’s board chairman.

In response, Solomon Asamoah issued a press statement denying these allegations. He stated he would cooperate with security agencies during their investigations.

Asamoah emphasized his commitment to integrity while leading GIIF. Under his leadership, he ensured GIIF became a profitable public institution.
